Denise Ballesteros returned to Hadsell Stormer & Renick, LLP in January 2018. She provides direct legal services to UNITE HERE Local 11 members through the Legal Fund of Hotel and Restaurant Employees of Los Angeles. She previously worked at the firm as a paralegal before attending law school.
Prior to re-joining the firm, Denise worked at Immigrant Defenders Law Center, a nonprofit organization serving unaccompanied minors and mentally incompetent adults. She represented unaccompanied children in USCIS, immigration court, and state court proceedings. She was also a corporate associate at O'Melveny and Myers LLP where she focused on real estate and project development transactions.
Denise graduated from Stanford Law School with Pro Bono Distinction. While in law school, she was an editor of the Stanford Journal of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties and co-chair of the Stanford Latino Law Students Association. She was also a coordinator for the Immigration Pro Bono Project, where she volunteered with Community Legal Services of East Palo Alto's immigration practice to provide legal services to marginalized communities of undocumented immigrants.
