Summer law clerks are expected to become integral members of a team of dedicated attorneys and staff that exclusively represent plaintiffs in civil rights, human rights, and workers’ rights litigation. Salary: $12,000 for a total of 10 weeks

ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY POSITION

Hadsell Stormer Renick & Dai LLP, a renowned California civil rights law firm, is hiring an Associate attorney. Applicants ideally should have 3-8 years of litigation experience although exceptional applicants with other levels of experience will be considered. Excellent legal research and writing skills and a commitment to social justice advocacy are required. This associate position is in the firm's Pasadena, California office. Current admission to the California Bar required. Paralegal
(Bilingual - English/Spanish)
Job Location: Downtown Los Angeles / Hybrid (minimum 2 days in-office per week)
Job Description:
Our Los Angeles office provides a variety of legal services to hospitality workers and is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) paralegal to join our dynamic and committed legal team. Practice areas include divorce, bankruptcy, and housing. The ideal candidate will have at least five (5) years of experience in civil matters. Occasional out-of-state travel may be required.
Responsibilities:
- Manage attorney calendar (including hearing dates, filing and service deadlines, and
appointments) - Maintain and organize case files (electronic and physical)
- Communicate with clients (including gathering documents and information as well as
effectively conveying information and/or instructions) - Independently complete service and filings (in both civil cases in state court and
bankruptcy cases in federal court) - Prepare first draft communications and filings (including data gathering and entry)
- Prepare discovery, declaration, and motion forms and templates
- Occasionally translate formal documents from English to Spanish
- Occasionally participate in membership outreach events offsite locally and out-of-state
- Regular clerical support duties (receptionist duties, answering phones, and setting
appointments)
Requirements:
- At least five (5) years of experience in civil legal matters
- Bilingual in English/Spanish. A significant portion of client communication will be in
Spanish. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish
- Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
- Excellent case management skills
- Trained and proficient in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat, and ideally also proficient
with legal software, including Clio, Best Case, and One Legal - Self-motivated and able to independently complete assignments
