Research Clerk position
Hadsell Stormer Renick & Dai LLP, a civil rights and employment law firm, is seeking a Research Clerk for a full-time position at its Downtown Los Angeles office. The firm’s work is dedicated to preserving living-wage jobs in the hospitality and tourism industry, preserving affordable housing for Los Angeles residents, and empowering individuals to engage with their local government. The position will focus on our public education campaign on the negative consequences of short term rentals in Southern California.
The main job responsibilities for this position include: answering phone calls to gather information about illegal short-term rental complaints; researching public records and online resources to compile formal written reports of illegal short term rentals; drafting letters on behalf of individuals impacted by short term rentals to appropriate local government offices or officials; attending city meetings and/or hearings; organizing and attending community outreach events including engaging with press; and maintaining electronic files.
The candidate must have an undergraduate degree, strong communication skills, the ability to interact effectively with clients, attorneys, paralegals, and support staff. The candidate must be organized, detail oriented, and reliable. The candidate must also have strong computer skills and familiarity with Outlook and Microsoft Word.
